Jack Laurenson is a London-based filmmaker, writer, and creative producer, and the co-founder of Trident Productions.
His work is centred on the development and production of feature films, documentaries, and limited series, alongside the building of a growing creative community through screenings, networking events, and industry collaboration. His focus is on serious, ambitious independent filmmaking, with a particular interest in stories shaped by psychological tension, political and historical reality, moral conflict, and human extremity.
Before moving fully into film production, Jack built a wide-ranging background in journalism, photojournalism, and documentary storytelling. He studied photojournalism at the University of the Arts London and later trained at the London Film Academy, bringing together a strong visual sensibility, editorial discipline, and a deep commitment to narrative.
Over the years, his work has taken him across the UK, Ukraine, Asia, the Middle East, and wider Europe, contributing to an international perspective that continues to shape both his filmmaking and his broader creative outlook. As a former journalist and visual storyteller, he has worked across a range of media environments and international contexts, developing a reputation for thoughtful, grounded, and human-centred storytelling. That foundation continues to inform his approach to film, where he combines visual ambition with a strong interest in character, atmosphere, conflict, and meaning.
Through Trident Productions, Jack is now focused on building a slate of distinctive narrative and documentary work while also creating spaces where actors, filmmakers, crew, and collaborators can connect around the projects themselves. The company’s work now extends beyond production alone, encompassing screenings, industry events, workshops, and a wider network of creative activity in London, across the UK, and internationally.
